Overall the show went well and ran smoothly. We had a good turnout of members to help set up and to help with the catering and greeters taking the money. I was able to attract 14 very high standard layouts, all of which ran as planned.
The winner of the best in show went to That Dam Railway which depicted the building of a dam inspired by the building of the dam in the Elan Valley near Abergavenny. Modelled in 009 scale it had a narrow gauge railway from the quarry and a shanty town for the workers. Unfortunately no photos were taken of it, but if any readers have one or two, we'd be pleased to receive them for inclusion.
