I’m pleased to be able to tell you that work parties from the membership are making great progress, only slowed recently by the need for urgent contractors’ repairs to the roof following the recent storms. The Milnsbridge clubrooms are now hardly recognisable. The majority of the layouts and equipment accumulated over the last 15 years have been dismantled, crated, stacked and made ready for the move to the new clubrooms. The kitchen and library have been stripped with some appliances, work surfaces and shelving saved for reuse. Our old metal chairs are likely to be on the way to Africa via a local charity very soon. A lot of rubbish has been identified and sorted and made ready for disposal. The new Bath Mill clubrooms have progressed well. The Kitchen and adjoining Toilets have been built and fitted out and now await internal lining and decorating. During recent weeks various members available at different times during weekdays have been busy painting walls and ceilings and carrying out other jobs such as clearing out rubbish. Hopefully we can soon carry out the move following all the planning and hard work. The aim is to re-establish HRM as a healthy fully functioning model railway club again. Graham Beckwith.
